Twisted Mbizi Bangles

For hundreds of years, copper has been mined, drawn, and twisted into bangles in Africa. Traditionally, there were two ways of making twisted bangles. Copper wire was either cut into lengths and twisted together; or thinner copper thread was drawn and coiled around a central core made oftentimes of elephant, giraffe or zebra hair. Our mbizi range includes both these traditional African styles. When coiling thinner copper we use a ferrous metal core so that our bangles are open and adjustable.
